juliett jade * giada
juliett jade, called giada in italia, is a renaissance pixie who creates incendiary Venusian vibrations as a citizen in the Federation of Damanhur, Italy. jade draws from a multiplicity of skills to channel light and serve as a force of compassionate inspiration. She delights in sharing the gifts of her visual and literary artistry, healing practicies, fire performance, and delicious live vegan cuisine.
jade was born outside of Cleveland, Ohio in the United States into a family of microbiologists and doctors from China and Taiwan originally. Soon thereafter, jade and her family moved to Houston, Texas, where she grew up in the suburbs and traveled along farm-to-market roads past fields of cows and feed stores to attend school. She sought sanctuary in the San Francisco Bay Area at the first opportunity, participating in progressive organizations and cooperative communities and blossoming in her explorations of artistry, healing and spiritual practices. jade holds an Interdisciplinary BA degree in Human Rights in Developing Countries from the University of California at Berkeley and has worked with the human rights and activist organizations Global Exchange and Public Citizen. She firmly believes in the power of all intentional, positive action to manifest healing through presence and celebration.

jade loves to generate harmonic vibrations thorough artist books, photography and visual creations. She has studied performance and installation art at the San Francisco Art Institute and visual art and creative writing at the University of California at Berkeley. She has designed a pleasing spectrum of websites, cards, stickers, logos, t-shirts and tattoos, and she is the author of prose, poetry, travel writing, enticing invitations and two novels. jade is skilled in both oral and written translation between Italian and English
touch + move
jade offers healing touch and movement therapy with the intention of holding space for all to manifest their most balanced and joyful nature. She is a pranatherapist, Reiki Master and massage therapist with many years of experience performing hands-on and energetic healing work, giving Reiki 1 and 2 classes and individual instruction. jade has lived in residence at the San Francisco Zen Center and practiced the art of zazen meditation. At the Esalen Institute, jade studied spiritual massage and shamanic practices with Brazilian healer Maria Lucia Bittencourt Sauer. As on organizer in the Heebeegeebee Healers and Ecstatic Hugs, holistic Burning Man communities, she has taken part in manifesting sanctuaries of body and energy work, yoga and meditation.
jade dances with fire, alighting the night with fire fans and poi in ceremonial, tribal dances in costumes of her own making. She has celebrated the joy of movement as a Nia instructor, sharing this mind-body fitness technique that blends martial arts with yoga and dance. jade practices acrobatic yoga and has taught yoga with children and their families, guiding a play of lightness, alignment and imagination. jade connects with her original self through movement, and encourages others to join her in the dance of life.

When wearing her chef hat, jade crafts live and raw vegan cuisine and holds workshops to spread the awareness of the benefits from a raw vegan diet. She has made concocted many communal meals as a chef and co-owner at Rainbow Grocery Cooperative, a vegetarian haven of organic food and natural products in San Francisco. As guest chef at the Kindle Café, an organic supper club in San Francisco, she wrangled the Raw Rodeo, making raw vegan versions of traditional Texas dishes.
jade is currently a citizen in Damanhur, a flourishing ecovillage, spiritual center, and cooperative social experiment in northern Italy.
